The Lil’wat Wellness Centre provides programs and services aimed to strengthen families and assist members in reaching their individual and collective goals. The Lil'wat Wellness centre focuses on 3 main services: Family Support, Family Preservation and Advocacy.

At Lil’wat Wellness, we are committed to building on the strengths of children, youth, and families within the Lil’wat Nation.

Family Support Services: voluntary, self-referred services with a focus on personal growth. Assistance can include information on parenting, budgeting, household routines, stress management, communication, referrals to other resources, and other topics of interest.

Family Preservation Services: are provided with a referral by the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD). These services have a focus on increasing the safety and well-being of children within their homes or in order to return home.

The emphasis with all our services is on keeping children with their parents. When this is not possible, we advocate for placements within the Lil’wat community and/or with extended family.

Advocacy Services: When social workers from the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) come into Mt. Currie or meet off reserve with community members, they notify our department and sign in at the Band office. A Band Staff Representative from our department will accompany the MCFD staff at meetings and home visits as an advocate and to provide support.

We are located upstairs in the Ullus Community Complex.
