Howe Sound Women’s Centre Society is dedicated to the prevention of violence against women and support for women, children and youth impacted by violence or abuse. We provide emergency transitional housing, support, resources, referrals and advocacy.  We serve the needs of women and children in the Sea to Sky Corridor including Pemberton, Whistler, Squamish and the Nations of N’Quatqua, Samahquam, Lil’wat, Skatin, Xa’xtsa, and Squamish.  Howe Sound Women’s Centre envisions a day when all women and their children are valued and lead healthy lives – supported, connected to the community and violence-free.    We have two centres located in Squamish and Whistler.

Services that we provide include:

  • Support, advocacy, referrals
  • Safety planning
  • Children and youth counselling, Girls Groups and Girls Wellness Camps, First Nations Women’s Program
  • On-going support for women and children who have accessed Pearl’s Place Transition House, Safe Home or Children, Youth & Family programs
  • Practical assistance with forms and online applications
  • Internet, fax, and photocopier access
  • Free civil and family law legal clinic offering a half hour consultation with a lawyer at the Women’s Centre in Squamish. Call 604.892.5748 to book an appointment
  • Resource material including books, pamphlets, brochures and an aspiring library
  • A safe and neutral space for women to meet with RCMP, Victim’s Services or Mental Health with support from Women’s Centre staff through that process
  • Assistance with resumes, cover letters and job search
  • Toiletries and clothing vouchers
  • Drop-in Yoga
